The Phillipsburg Panthers won against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs last Friday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Phillipsburg walked away with a 67-56 win over Sylvan-Lucas. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Phillipsburg can attribute much of their success to Rad Rodriguez, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Zordyn Taylor, who scored 8 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Phillipsburg and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Sylvan-Lucas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Phillipsburg will square off against St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. John's/Tipton Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Plains on Friday.
