The biggest upset of the week belonged to Verbum Dei, who took down 895th ranked Verbum Dei, 28-7.
La Salle extended the longest winning streak in Del Rey this week by beating Westchester, 47-30. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
La Salle's dynamic duo of Austin Wallis and Bobby LaSalle proved tough for the Comets to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wallis threw for 126 yards and one touchdown and LaSalle had 46 yards receiving. Marcus Tappan helped La Salle's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Jared Gonzales provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cantwell-Sacred Heart lost to Cathedral. He completed two passes for 45 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 128 yards. Gonzales' favorite target this week was Brye Busse, who caught two passes for 45 yards.
La Salle's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wallis has thrown for 635 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Jalen Gray has 13 catches for 205 yards. Isreal Lacy leads the league in rushing with 478 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cardinals take on Bishop Montgomery. Cantwell-Sacred Heart is currently in sixth, while the Knights are in second.
Bosco Tech was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Del Rey. Earlier in the week, the Tigers triumphed over the Eagles 28-7.
