The Wolfson Wolfpack will venture away from home to face off against the Riverside Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wolfson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Wolfson took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Bishop Kenny, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolfpack came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-5.
Madison Saling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Kadence Cooper was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those doubles were her first of the season. Hannah E. Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Riverside came up short against Harvest Community on Tuesday, falling 22-6. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
A Jackson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Z Washington, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wolfson, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wolfson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wolfson got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Riverside by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
