Softball Recap: Ysleta Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ysleta waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Austin Panthers 15-0. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Savannah Jurado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jurado was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gabrielle Escontrias was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Cienna Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Ysleta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They are 10-1-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ysleta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Austin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-13.

Ysleta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Riverside on the 7th. As for Austin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-4 defeat against Bowie on the 9th.
