Mater Dei Catholic kept a clean sheet against Southwest EC on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Southwest EC Eagles with a sharp 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

Mater Dei Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Southwest EC, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

After both having extra time off, Mater Dei Catholic and Clairemont will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Mater Dei Catholic knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Clairemont likes a good challenge. As for Southwest EC, they will be taking part in a tournament against Chula Vista at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Chula Vista's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
