 Paxton Echols was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Echols was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brant Duncan, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.  Jett Howard was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple and two  RBI.
 Thatcher was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Empire only posted a  batting average of  .136.
The  win made it two in a row for Thatcher and  bumps their season record up to 8-12. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5  runs in those games. As for Empire, they now  have a losing record of 12-13.
 Looking ahead, Thatcher will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Safford  at 4:00  p.m. As for Empire, they will venture away from home to  take on Desert Christian  at 3:45  p.m.  on Friday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season.
