The Incarnate Word Academy Falcons will play host again and welcome the Antonian Prep Apaches, where tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Incarnate Word Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1083rd, while Antonian Prep is ranked 101st).
Incarnate Word Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Incarnate Word on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Shamrocks 56-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Incarnate Word Academy in their matchups with Incarnate Word: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Antonian Prep had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over Concordia Lutheran.
Antonian Prep found their leader in underclassman Kyzarriah Fox, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Fox has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniyah Fox, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Incarnate Word Academy dropped their record down to 9-16 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Antonian Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.
Incarnate Word Academy was taken down by Antonian Prep 65-25 when the teams last played on January 5th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fox, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
