ALA - Gilbert North won the last time they faced Cactus Shadows and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles skirted past the Falcons 35-33. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead ALA - Gilbert North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Livingston, who threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Weston Powell helped out on the ground, rushing for 110 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: ALA - Gilbert North was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cactus Shadows only rushed for 123 rushing yards.

ALA - Gilbert North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaac Massey and Stockton Dye.

Despite the loss, Cactus Shadows still got an impressive performance from Donivan Dixon, who threw for 405 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 98 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. The Falcons' leading receiver Dillon Aspiras was Dixon's top target yet again, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

ALA - Gilbert North has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two points across that stretch. As for Cactus Shadows, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ALA - Gilbert North will take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 984 yards in their previous games. As for Cactus Shadows, they will challenge Eastmark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
