Freeport had lost six straight at home, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-17 to make it seven. They fell  13-8 to the Boylan Catholic Titans. The Pretzels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won  15-5.
 Mackenzee Matz was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   five  hits. That's the fewest  earned runs  she has allowed since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Quinn Krzeminiski and  Hannah Stott stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Krzeminiski  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI, while  Stott  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Grace Muench, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
As for Boylan Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 8-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the  match before.
On Boylan Catholic's side,  Ari Ousley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.
 At the plate,  Janae Burke was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March.  Maddy Kiley was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  RBI.
 Freeport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Jefferson on the 9th. As for Boylan Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  14-3  loss against Harlem on the 9th.
