Prospect typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Maine West proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Knights 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Maine West who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-21.

Adrian Kleszczewski paced Maine West's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kleszczewski got some help from Peter Dempsey and his 35 assists. Luis Alvarez-Perez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Maine West's victory bumped their record up to 28-5. As for Prospect, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-8.

Looking ahead, Maine West will welcome Leyden at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Prospect and Barrington will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
