Volleyball Recap: Camarillo Wins Going Away Against Rio Mesa

Camarillo won the last time they faced Rio Mesa and things went their way on Thursday too. The Camarillo Scorpions were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Rio Mesa Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scorpions.

Camarillo was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Jayden Chapman and Stanley Filiaga, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Matt Fisher and his 20 assists. He also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Micah West, racking up three apiece.

Camarillo's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Rio Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Camarillo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Canyon on the 25th. As for Rio Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Moorpark on the 25th.
