Section 9 C-I recap October 8, 2013
Burke Catholic took down Stissing Mountain 65-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Matt Przybocki ran for 200 yards during the win.
Ellenville made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,146 from 11,465. The improvement was largely due to a 44-22 victory over Onteora last week.
Przybocki provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles beat the Bombers. Przybocki's favorite target this week was Tom Connolly, who caught 3 passes for 39 yards.
Justin Fenical and Przybocki gave Burke Catholic a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Fenical threw for 50 yards and 1 touchdown, while Przybocki ran for 200 yards. Teammate Stephon Sander added to the ground attack by rushing for 147 yards.
O'Neill's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keegan West has thrown for 460 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Malik Chambers has 10 catches for 138 yards.
The top two teams in Section 9 C-I will face off this week when first place O'Neill takes on second place Burke Catholic. Last week, O'Neill fell to Millbrook, while Ed Van Curen's team beat Stissing Mountain.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on the Raiders. Burke Catholic has allowed 46 points this season, while O'Neill has given up 88. The Eagles allowed 0 points last week as they topped Jim Jackson's team.
There should be lots of points scored when Burke Catholic and Anthony Finochio's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 190 this season, while the Raiders have scored 124. Burke Catholic scored 65 points last week as it defeated the Bombers.
