The biggest upset of the week belonged to Christoval, who took down 893rd ranked Bronte, 32-30. Dale Cunningham threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 40 yards in the win.
Logan McGee of Irion County ran for the longest rushing play in 1A-2 Region II District 6 this season against Menard last week. McGee scampered for 87 yards on the play and finished with 152 on the day as his team fell to the Yellowjackets.
Mitchell Lane was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cougars beat the Longhorns. Lane racked up five receptions for 184 yards. Morgan Lytle helped Christoval's passing attack out by catching three balls for 55 yards.
Christoval's Cunningham and Lane have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cunningham has thrown for 1157 yards this season, while Lane has 31 catches for 620 yards. Brandon Garcia from Texas Leadership Charter Academy leads the league in rushing with 1459 yards.
The top two teams in 1A-2 Region II District 6 will face off this week when first place Texas Leadership Charter Academy takes on second place Eldorado. Last week, the Eagles, while Eldorado defeated Miles.
Blaine Mitchell and Bobby Martinez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Bulldogs. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
