Mesa Vista is 2-8 against Pecos since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mesa Vista Trojans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pecos Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Pecos took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mesa Vista, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Mesa Vista got the win against Non Varsity Opponent by a conclusive 74-54.
Tana Lopez was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with eight steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Torrez , who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pecos came up short against St. Michael's on Tuesday and fell 42-34. Pecos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The win got Mesa Vista back to even at 2-2. As for Pecos, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Mesa Vista strolled past Pecos when the teams last played back in January by a score of 56-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mesa Vista since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
