After flying high against the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors last Saturday, the O'Neill Eagles came back down to earth. O'Neill took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norfolk Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, O'Neill still got an impressive performance from Drew Morrow, who went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 7 assists. Trevor Alder was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
O'Neill's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Norfolk Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
O'Neill will head out on the road to face off against West Holt at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Holt will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Francis at 7:45 p.m. St. Francis is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
