After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Somerville, the American History Bald Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 41-18 margin over Pioneer Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as American History also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
American History found their leader in underclassman Erica Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. Lawson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Stanley, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
American History has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Pioneer Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
American History will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. People's Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Pioneer Academy is on the road again on Monday and plays the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th.
