Softball Recap: Southside Wins Going Away Against Gaston

While Southside put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Gaston. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Rylann Shaw, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadey Barbe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory snapped Southside's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-12 record. As for Gaston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-1 record this season.

Southside will head out on the road to face off against Fort Payne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gaston has already played their next match (against Faith Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
