The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves will face off against the Palmyra-Eagle Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Living Word Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Living Word Lutheran took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against University School of Milwaukee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wildcats 6-5.
Easton Oliver made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Oliver wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Raddemann, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two hits gave Raddemann a new career-high. Gavin LaPerriere was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmyra-Eagle). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Williams Bay a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.
Like Living Word Lutheran, Palmyra-Eagle also got a great game from a two-way player: Dillen Patrick. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Patrick was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, D Walsh and Alex Harbison did most of the damage at the plate: Walsh went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Harbison went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Walsh has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dalton Anton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Palmyra-Eagle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.
Living Word Lutheran pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Palmyra-Eagle, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Living Word Lutheran has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palmyra-Eagle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
