The Patterson Lumberjacks lost against the New Iberia Yellowjackets back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Patterson was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to New Iberia. Patterson has struggled against New Iberia recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
New Iberia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Otis Anderson led the charge by scoring six points along with 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Frank, who scored 12 points.
Patterson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for New Iberia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Patterson will be home for the holidays to greet Westgate at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. New Iberia won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Alexandria at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Alexandria is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
