Carlisle has gone 6-1 against Westover Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Chiefs will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carlisle took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Blue Ridge. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chiefs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Casey Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Wood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Luke Carter was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Westover Christian Academy had just enough and edged out Faith Christian Academy 3-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with Faith Christian Academy: they've now won five in a row.
Like Carlisle, Westover Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Silas Zeidler. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Zeidler a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.
Zeidler wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jay Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another was Tanner Medford, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Carlisle's record now sits at 2-4. As for Westover Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything went Carlisle's way against Westover Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, as Carlisle made off with a 16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
