Chincoteague's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Harper, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Jordan Harper, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
Broadwater Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Ross, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rufus Abbott, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Chincoteague's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Broadwater Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chincoteague will square off against Middlesex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Broadwater Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gateway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
