The Sumter County Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 58-12 victory over Cook at home. Sumter County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jesstynie Scott, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lauren Harris, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
The win got Sumter County back to even at 6-6. As for Cook, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumter County and Crisp County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Crisp County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 two weeks ago. Cook won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Berrien at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Berrien is ranked 337th, while Cook is ranked 343rd).
