The South Warren Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Larue County Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Warren 1.9, Larue County 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
South Warren's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They didn't even let Meade County on the board, marking the Spartans' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 21 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Courtney Norwood tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 15 consecutive appearances.

Isabelle Hayes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emmaline Engle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Phoenix Bell also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
South Warren has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Larue County, they pushed their record up to 24-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Warren hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .424. However, it's not like Larue County struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
