South Greene is a perfect 4-0 against Hampton since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rebels will square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. South Greene is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
South Greene will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Johnson County on Thursday. The Rebels never let the Longhorns get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. Considering the Rebels have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kortnei Bailey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, South Greene got a massive performance out of Reagan Arrowood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Arrowood has posted since back in April of 2024. Madison Hensley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hampton fell victim to Cloudland and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Highlanders. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
South Greene's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.
Hampton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Greene has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Hampton, though, as they've been averaging 12.8 hits. Given South Greene's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
South Greene took their win against Hampton in their previous meeting on April 8th by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
