The Wasco Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Shafter Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wasco has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
Wasco suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-27 loss at the hands of Taft. Wasco has struggled against Taft recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Shafter's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Kennedy.
Shafter relied on the efforts of Shaun Maldonado, who scored 22 points, and Aidan Cardenas, who scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Bloemhof, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Wasco's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-14. As for Shafter, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Wasco came out on top in a nail-biter against Shafter in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 2-0. Will Wasco repeat their success, or does Shafter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
