Softball Recap: Opp Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

Opp got themselves on the board against Geneva on Friday, but Geneva never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Crislyn Birge was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Adams was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Opp has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Geneva, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Opp didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Ariton on the 11th. As for Geneva, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dale County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
