Flag Football Recap: Fremd Takes Down Hersey in a Playoff Battle

Fremd extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Hersey. They blew past the Huskies, posting a 41-6 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Lily Mayer was her usual excellent self, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 188 yards and a pair of TDs. Suzanna Grosman also helped with two scores in total.

Fremd didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Jill Simonian and Selah Cho were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Simonian got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the seventh in a row for Fremd, bringing their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.6 points over those games. As for Hersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Fremd will face off against Stevenson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Vikings 12.3, the Patriots 8.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Hersey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
