The Ganado Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Chinle Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ganado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
Ganado entered their tilt with Holbrook with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ganado snuck past Holbrook with a 41-36 win. Given Ganado's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Holbrook is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ganado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayanna White, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Faith James was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Chinle had to settle for a 42-39 loss against Show Low on Friday. Chinle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ganado's victory lifted them to 3-1 while Holbrook's loss dropped them down to 0-3.
Ganado might still be hurting after the 68-44 loss they got from Chinle when the teams last played back in January. Can Ganado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
