The Perry Central Commodores will face off against the West Washington Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Perry Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
West Washington will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Perry Central extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Commodores walked away with an 8-5 win over Evansville Christian. That's two games straight that the Commodores have won by exactly three runs.
Cohen Edwards was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Orleans by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Nash Ables was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cole Timberlake and Iziah Dennis did most of the damage at the plate: Timberlake got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Dennis got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Perry Central now has a winning record of 10-9. As for West Washington, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Perry Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Perry Central couldn't quite finish off West Washington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Will the Commodores have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
