The Salmon Savages can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-47 victory over Leadore. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Salmon also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Leadore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Herbst. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Herbst is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Ramsey, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Salmon's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Leadore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Salmon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Leadore, they will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Lima is ranked 145th in Montana, while the Mustangs are ranked 146th in Idaho).
