Gallup is 8-2 against Shiprock since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Gallup Bengals will head out on the road to challenge the Shiprock Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Gallup's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Gallup pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bloomfield by a score of 65-62.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 94-48, which was the final score in Shiprock's tilt against Navajo Prep on Monday. Shiprock was down 77-46 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Gallup's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Shiprock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.
Gallup came up short against Shiprock in their previous meeting back in January, falling 71-62.
