The Niles Notre Dame Dons had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over De La Salle.
De La Salle's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kenyonte Louis, who rushed for 80 yards, and also threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of David Coffey, who gained 75 total yards and two touchdowns.
Niles Notre Dame's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for De La Salle, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Niles Notre Dame will head out on the road to face off against Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Niles Notre Dame likes a good challenge. De La Salle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
