The Ferris Yellowjackets fell victim to the Glen Rose Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Tigers at home and fell 41-0. Ferris has struggled against Glen Rose recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Joshua Greek threw for 123 yards on ten of 23 attempts. Gavin Garcia was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards. On the ground, Bryan Ramirez rushed for 99 yards.
Canyon Evans was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Josiah Groeneweg, who picked up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ferris' defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.6 points per game. As for Glen Rose, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Ferris does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Glen Rose will be playing at home against Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
