The Calumet New Tech Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Wheeler by a score of 61-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Calumet New Tech also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading Calumet New Tech to victory were Eric Allen and John Hudson. Allen scored 13 points along with eight assists and three steals, while Hudson scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hudson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amir Watson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Calumet New Tech has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Wheeler, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calumet New Tech will take on Gary West Side at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gary West Side knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Calumet New Tech likes a good challenge. As for Wheeler, they will be playing at home against Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
