Tilden added to the longest winning streak in Chicago Public Intra-City 2 this week by beating Juarez, 38-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Tilden made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,533 from 13,868. The advance stemmed from a 38-13 victory over the Eagles last week.
Kelly's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Dario Almazan chipped in 145 yards.
Almazan was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 145 yards as the Trojans topped Chicago International Charter-Longwood Academy. Rolando Herrera also contributed to the rushing game with 125 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Juarez's Abel Diaz and Omar Ibarra have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Diaz has thrown for 820 yards this season, while Ibarra has 23 catches for 466 yards. Kelly's Almazan leads the league in rushing yards with 734.
An important game coming up in Chicago Public Intra-City 2 this week will be when Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville takes on Gage Park. As it stands, the Eagles are in fifth, while the Fighting Owls are in seventh.
The Blue Devils led the league in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Anthony Swope's team.
