The Pima Roughriders can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morenci 69-25 at home. Winning may never get old, but Pima sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pima's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ady Hoopes, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Madison Gann, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Morenci had strong showings from Rozlyn Funari, who scored nine points along with five steals, and Sway Cordova, who scored six points along with three steals. Funari hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Morenci struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pima's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.54 points. As for Morenci, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Pima will head out on the road to face off against Safford at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Safford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games. Morenci won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tombstone at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Tombstone is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
