Meanwhile, Middletown came up short against Toll Gate on Thursday and fell 43-31. That's two games in a row now that Middletown has lost by exactly 12 points.
Despite the defeat, Middletown saw an underclassman step up: Lamaya Gonsalves scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonsalves has scored all season.
Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Rogers was able to grind out a solid victory over Middletown in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, winning 44-35. Does Rogers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Middletown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
