Meyersdale is a perfect 4-0 against Northern Bedford County since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Meyersdale's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Wednesday. They put the hurt on Forbes Road with a sharp 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Madison Berkley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Deal, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Graci Reese was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
Meyersdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northern Bedford County duked it out with North Star on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Cougars 13-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Like Meyersdale, Northern Bedford County also got a great game from a two-way player: Mylee Mitchell. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Mitchell has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Ava Helsel and Myha Dixon did most of the damage at the plate: Helsel went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Dixon went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Meyersdale's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6. As for Northern Bedford County, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Northern Bedford County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Meyersdale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. It's a different story for Northern Bedford County, though, as they've only averaged .224. Will they be able to contain Meyersdale's hitters?
