The Millbury Woolies gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They really took it to Uxbridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-38 win at home. That's another feather in the cap for Millbury, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Millbury's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Phillipo, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny Donnelly, who scored 12 points.
Uxbridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kellen Lachapelle, who scored ten points, and James Sanford who scored ten points. Colin Spencer was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Millbury pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.78 points. As for Uxbridge, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millbury will challenge Northbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Uxbridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Sutton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
