The Pescadero Vikings had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 53-40 to KIPP Esperanza on Monday.
KIPP Esperanza found their leader in underclassman Eddie Whiteside, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Whiteside has scored at least 25% of KIPP Esperanza's points. Tuli Vea was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Pescadero's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for KIPP Esperanza, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pescadero will take on Pacific Bay Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for KIPP Esperanza, they will be playing in front of their home fans against KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
