Cape Henlopen is 10-0 against Sussex Tech since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Cape Henlopen Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Sussex Tech Ravens at 5:15 p.m. Cape Henlopen will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Cape Henlopen faced Appoquinimink in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cape Henlopen secured a 49-43 W over Appoquinimink.
Cape Henlopen found their leader in underclassman Amalia Fruchtman, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fruchtman has scored at least a third of Cape Henlopen's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Maull, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Sussex Tech had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Milford with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 49-32.
Cape Henlopen pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Sussex Tech, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Cape Henlopen strolled past Sussex Tech when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 57-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cape Henlopen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
