Fort Davis suffered their biggest loss since November 14, 2023 last Friday. They were outmatched by Van Horn at home and fell 66-13. Fort Davis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-4.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Dell City, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-38 loss to Marfa on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dell City in their matchups with Marfa: they've now lost three in a row.
Dell City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaac Estrada, who scored ten points along with three steals, and Reyes Espinoza who scored 11 points along with three steals. Espinoza is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josh Rector, who scored five points.
Fort Davis' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Dell City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Fort Davis ended up a good deal behind Dell City in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 62-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Espinoza, who scored 29 points along with five assists and three steals.
