Silver Bluff put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 57-25 victory over Strom Thurmond. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Silver Bluff did.
It was another big night for Krystal Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 17 points for six straight games. Ahminah Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Pelion took a serious blow against Strom Thurmond on Friday, falling 58-15. Pelion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.
Silver Bluff's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.4 points. As for Pelion, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Silver Bluff against Pelion when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 62-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silver Bluff since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
