Millennium scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Chavez, 28-20. At the time, the Champions were ranked 25th in the state, while the Tigers were 54th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Millennium, who took down 25th ranked Chavez, 28-20.
Deer Valley's Devon Palomino and Kenneth Wright have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading II Section I in both passing and receiving yards. Palomino has thrown for 2280 yards this season, while Wright, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 52 catches for 899 yards. Jett Robertson from Ironwood leads the league in rushing with 1502 yards.
Going into this week's game against Ironwood Ridge, Apollo's Jordan Gungl needs five passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Gungl has thrown for 1995 yards with 24 touchdowns and four interceptions.
In 126 carries Blaine Freeman has accumulated 974 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Centennial takes on George Martinez's team. The Coyotes are in first place, while the Tigers are in fourth place.
The Hawks extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Horizon, 24-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
