This season hasn't been kind to the Geibel Catholic Gators, who are still winless after their fifth match. They took a 64-50 bruising from Brownsville on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Geibel Catholic has lost by exactly 14 points.
Despite the loss, Geibel Catholic had strong showings from Gary Tarbuk, who scored 18 points, and Tommy Kolencik, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Tarbuk scored 15 or more points.
Even though they lost, Geibel Catholic were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Geibel Catholic's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Brownsville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Geibel Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Carmichaels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brownsville and Yough will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Yough presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brownsville in Pennsylvania (Yough is ranked 77th, while Brownsville is ranked 305th).
