The Middleton Vikings came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Timberline by a score of 45-35. This was payback for Middleton, who suffered a 62-39 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Middleton to victory were Miley Steele and Zoey Blackwell. Steele scored nine points along with three blocks, while Blackwell scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Blackwell's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aysha Fried, who scored six points.
Middleton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Timberline, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mountain View the next time they take the court. Middleton will host Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Timberline will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
