The Greendale Panthers suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 69-49 defeat at the hands of Franklin. Greendale has struggled against Franklin recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Yoder, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Macey St Lawrence was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Greendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Franklin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Capstran, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rachael Jepsen, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Greendale dropped their record down to 7-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Franklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Greendale won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Berlin Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. New Berlin Eisenhower presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greendale in Wisconsin (New Berlin Eisenhower is ranked 66th, while Greendale is ranked 207th). As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to square off against Racine Case at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
