The Wilmington Charter Force will head out on the road to face off against the Polytech Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilmington Charter is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Wilmington Charter had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past St. Elizabeth 10-8.
Wilmington Charter's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady harach, who gained 178 total yards. John Foley and his 100 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Wilmington Charter's win.
The team's defense also helped out by holding St. Elizabeth to a paltry 153 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Wilmington Charter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Bobby Cardone was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Polytech waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They were the clear victor by a 28-6 margin over Glasgow. Polytech might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 22 points or more this season.
Their wins bumped Wilmington Charter to 8-3 and Polytech to 10-1.
Wilmington Charter was dealt a bruising 40-0 loss at the hands of Polytech in their previous matchup back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Polytech's Noah Walker, who rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Now that Wilmington Charter knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
