Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact Mendon proved on Thursday. They breezed by Athens at home to the tune of 66-26. That looming 66-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mendon yet this season.
Mendon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Gorham out in front who scored 20 points. Quincy Blair was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
St. Philip Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mendon, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8.
St. Philip Catholic Central beat Mendon 70-58 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does St. Philip Catholic Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mendon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
