Basketball Recap: Moundridge's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

It was fun while it lasted, but Moundridge's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Tuesday. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little River Redskins. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 66-48 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Moundridge still got an impressive performance from Cammi Unruh, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Unruh is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Addy Patrick, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Moundridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Arika Feldman was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points for Little River. The team also got some help courtesy of Saelyn Raleigh, who had nine points and five rebounds.

Moundridge's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1. As for Little River, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Moundridge Wildcats face off against the Sedgwick Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Moundridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. Little River will take on Wakefield in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Little River's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Wakefield's offense will have their work cut out for them.
